Mini Makers and Mahj: A 4-Week Afterschool Series

Calling all young makers and game-lovers ages 8–12! Join us for a brand-new afterschool series where kids will learn to play American Mahjong, make a fun craft, and enjoy a snack together each week.

When: Mondays, September 14, 21, 28 & October 5, 4:00–6:00 PM


Where: Mayflower Congregational Church

Each session, kids will start with a snack and some time to hang out with friends, then dive into learning the basics of American Mahjong — from the tiles and the NMJL card to gameplay strategy — followed by a hands-on craft activity. Our lessons are geared specifically toward this age group, keeping things fun, interactive, and easy to follow so kids build confidence with the game at their own pace. By the end of the four weeks, participants will know how to play a full game of Mahjong and will have created several fun projects to take home!

No prior experience needed — just a willingness to learn, make, and have fun!
